i thank you for the years that have built me as me
i thank you for the care of loved ones you have given
i thank you for the education in school and out of school
i thank you for the world which has been my battle field
i thank you for the guidance and training you impart
i thank you for every experience that enriches my heart
i thank you for the tears that taught me to live
i thank you for the smiles that you helped me to give
i thank you for the love that i give and receive
i thank you for the time that i lived on this earth
but most of all dear lord i thank you for life
and your friendship and partnership that i will always cherish
thank you for being with me in tears and joy
in sickness and health, in brokenness and abundance
in misunderstandings and love, in haste and in delay
in my thanklessness and laziness, through my highs and lows
you were always right there next to me with every feeling that i felt
and every breath that i breathed, you were with me always
and so today i look back with pride and satisfaction
thank you and congrats my partner and lord
i am thirty today and its wonderful to be.....
